The world’s top 400 richest people lost a total of $19bn this year, according to Bloomberg’s Billionaire Index.
The biggest losers was Warren Buffett who lost $11.3bn while Bill Gates’ wealth shrunk by $3bn.
Zara boss Amancio Ortega, with a $73.2bn wealth pile, pipped Carlos Slim to become the world’s second-richest person.
The year has been kind to tech billionaires with Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos’ net worth more than doubling to $59bn, making him now the fourth-richest person in the world.
Zuckerberg became the world’s eighth richest man after a $11.6bn boost to his riches. He’s now worth a cool $46.1bn.
According to Bloomberg, the 400 richest people in the world control around $3.9 trillion. Take a look at the top 10 richest people as of today:
